Matt Gerhard is a Producer/Engineer/Multi-Instrumentalist based in Austin, TX
Matt has worked with artists like Spoon, !!!, Tennis, Future Islands, and Parquet Courts, as well as many leading producers including Jim Eno, Joe Chiccarelli, Mark Rankin, Charlie Sexton, Steve Berlin, Jack Lawrence and Rick Hart.
I offer full production, mixing, and mastering, and I work both in person and remotely. Whether you’re building a track from the ground up, tightening an existing production, or just need a mix or master that translates everywhere, my focus is always on supporting the song and bringing out what makes it unique.

Production takes many forms. It might involve contributing ideas, refining arrangements, or simply stepping back to capture a compelling performance. I love collaborating closely with artists to draw out their best work and translate it authentically to record.

Whether crafting a track from the ground up or capturing a full band in its natural element, I bring a flexible and creative approach to recording. I enjoy experimenting with unconventional sounds just as much as I appreciate the energy of a great live take.

I ensure consistency and cohesion across your entire project, balancing songs so they sound great across all formats-digital or physical-and are ready for release.

I’m fortunate to be connected with a wide network of talented musicians here in Austin. Whether you need drums, bass, guitar, keys, horns, or strings. I can contribute parts directly or connect you with players who fit your sound, and deliver high-quality remote recordings.
